Initially created to support a real event at Copenhagen Earth Summit 2009, the virtual lantern’s continued success has made it one of Earth Hour’s most successful online tools with over 85,000 lanterns created for Earth Hour 2011 alone.
As the original Earth Hour country the Australian website required nearly the same level of complexity as the global site.
When the 2011 earth quake and following tsunami hit Japan, Earth Hour wanted to do something to help. With the help of eBay Australia and EH ambassadors, we created an auction to raise funds.
